4 Things you should know when you are selling your home.

So you have decided to sell your home. Here are a few tips to help you get your home ready to sell and hopefully save you some time and money.

1. You need to know your homes true value. It is important to meet with a realtor first when you are considering selling your home. A realtor will guide you through the process of listing your home. They will be able to tell you your homes true worth and how to stage your home to sell fast.

2. Know what you can live without. When it comes to staging a home, less is more. Eliminate all the clutter in your home.  Rent a storage building and store your personal belongings in it until your home sells. Pack up all of your personal knick knacks. You want potential buyers to be able to see their things in your home.

3. Know where the closest home improvement store is and the number to a good handy man. You know all of those nagging things on your list of repairs, now is the time to get them done. Fix that leaking faucet in the guest bath, and tighten the hinges on the kitchen cabinets. Paint the walls neutral colors. Also be prepared to call in the professionals for projects that may be beyond your expertise. Your home needs to be in pristine condition before you list.

4. Organization is key. Keep in mind this is not your home anymore. This is a potential buyers home and staying organized is the best way to keep your home in tip top shape while it is on the market. Keep your kitchen, bathroom and closets organized during this time.

So now that you have decided to sell your home, it’s time to meet with a realtor, get your repairs done, and get organized. Call me today for a listing appointment! I will come to your home and meet with you and get you started on the right track. I have advanced marketing techniques that can give your listing that added edge that others can’t offer.
